Page 1 of Samsung v5600 vcr/dvd combo

Anyone know of a multi-region hack for this player?

Would be grateful if anyone does.

This is supposed to be the Hack

Region code hack posted by The Starglider, May 06 2006:
This works for the Region 2 model of this unit. I`m guessing by the lack of information on Samsung`s website about this product that it could be a exclusive model for some shops, although the DivX playback ability does not exist in their other comparible models.

1. Press the DVD button on your remote (the Samsung logo appears)
2. Press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
3. With your remote enter the code: 57538
4. The current region is displayed on the top left corner of the screen. (e.g. 2)
5. Press 9 on your remote (Region free)
6. Again press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
7. Open & close the tray twice using your remote
8. Power off and then on the unit
9. Enjoy the Region free player

NB As stated on the top of the Hack ..it is for a Region 2 Model
If your player is NOT Region 2 by default then you will need to Substitute the Numbers in Step 3 with the ones Below.

Region codes:
RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 )
RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2

For Example if your Player was Purchased in Australia ( Which is Region 4) then Step 3 would read :-

3. With your remote enter the code: 76884

Has anyone been able to get this to work? I`ve been trying for a while now and it`s just not happening

yep. works fine on amazon.co.uk model
(but remember to remove DVD from tray and found no need to open/close tray, stand on one leg whistling Rule Brittannia etc ;) )
