Hack Help Forum
Does anyone have a working hack for the M105 yet? I understand reading some other topics here that the earlier versions (earlier firmware) supported the hack that works on the 511. I`ve just got the M105 after the 511 developed a fault, the retailer swapped it for this model, and told me they have been assured by Samsung that this is remote hackable. Has anyone had any luck with the later M105?
Thanks
Simon

I can`t believe this, I`ve just bougt one today and been trying the hack but nothing is happening. what does this mean, the later models can not be done?
surly there must be another way.
RE: Help with Samsung M105
I got a M105 last Saturday and used the hack found in this forum and it worked a treat my player is now multi region I don`t know about the macrovision I have not tried it. Make sure you use repeat and not the a/b repeat.
Power on the player
1. Make sure there is no disk in the tray.
2. Press REPEAT
3. key in 3,8,7,6,7
4. `02` will appear in the top left.
5. Press button for required region e.g. 1 = region1, 9= auto select
6. Press open/ close
7. Press standby on remote to power off, and tray will close.
Next time you use the player, it`ll play anything
Good luck and enjoy.
RE: Help with Samsung M105
can u please tell me how fast do you have to press your buttons. fast as possible or slowly. at what pace did you do yours.
I`ve tried swithching the player off and on at the mains, tried pressing the sequence of buttons slowly, quickly, everything.... The numbers just appear on the screen as I press the buttons, 02 never appears, if I then press 9, 09 appears. I don`t think any remote hacks that are known work for the latest model.

No chipping may be the only way with the latest firmware .. it would be interesting to know what firmware version you have ( written on the chip) as I know for sure that V5.02C is hackable

Steve,
Had a look inside, the Firmware in mine is V5.02E. I see its on an Eprom in a socket, so if I could get hold of the V5.02C file, I have access to an Eprom programmer, maybe I could just swap the Eprom in the machine. There`s also a date on the Eprom label: 2001.07.03

same here mine is V5.02E. also the date is same as yours.
HEY PROBLEM SOLVED!
I went to ARGOS to buy the m105 because they still (in some stores) have the old batch players with the V5.02C firmware. and then simply swap the chips over!
since they have the `16 day money back guarantee` you could return it back and get your refund. however, it costs £189.99 at ARGOS.
You must hurry because the store where i got mine from, it was the last one there.
BUT if you live anywhere near MANCHESTER, there are 3 stores where I know still have some left.
1) ROCHDALE
2) ASHTON
3) MANCHESTER -SUPER STORE
HEY I AM NOT 100% SURE IF THEY WILL HAV THE OLDER VERSIONS.
You`ve still got nothing to lose.
i will later test if the MACRO has been disabled.
Macro will not be disabled .... try putting the newer firmware chip back in after hacking to see if the player keeps it`s multiregion satus
