Page 1 of goodmans GDVD90W2 portable player

Just got this player.

I did the following hack (from the 67 model)

all buttons on the machine itself

open lid

press setup

press next >>¦
press previous ¦<<
press next >>¦
press previous ¦<<

the curent region code appears on the screen ( mine was 255 - multiregion )
it can be altered by using the menu left/right control

but , when I press menu up/down I get the number 3001 on the display
I can alter it to 3000 and 3001


seems to have no effect. Anyone any ideas ?

This Is Normally Macrovision On / Off

3001 is Macrovision Enable
3000 is Macrovision Disable

Sometimes if you Press Menu Up / Down Again you have another Option

5001 VCD / SVCD Enable
5000 VCD / SVCD Disable

BTW The Hack will probably work using the Remote Control as well

My player only has the region and the 3000/3001 options

Are there any other hacks or tips for this machine ?

No Not Really

Although FYI The Hack Used on your Player is Common to a Lot of Portable DVD Players, ( Including Many Matsui`s ,Yukai ) and Many other Full size Players ( Including Acoustic Solutions)

It Seems the Firmware is a Commonly used One...Most of these Players Are OEM Players as Most of the actual Manufacturers do not Actually Exist as Manufacturers just Names.
