RCA encoded disks hacks

Trueplayer (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 18th November 2001, 05:55

I`m on the verge of buying a Cyberhome AD-L 528 dvd player, and just found out that it can`t play RCA encoded disks in it. Is there a hack to get around this, cos its sounds ok. I`m new to all this and need a novice guide to RCA encoded disks etc and if this a worth while buy.

Can any body help asap please.

I think you mean RCE encoded discs. Regional Coding Enhanced discs will show a region map when you place in a disc that does not match that of the regional code assigned to your player.
There is a region hack for this player. See Info on region hacks. Scroll down to the model and check out the hack. In order to get around the RCE protection just set the region to the region of the disc that you wish to play. This only has to be done on RCE titles. You will know if it`s an RCE disc when a map is shown when you try to play the disc.
I hope I have been of help.

Once set to "region all" using the hack, this machine is fully RCE compatible.
