RE: WHO CAN I COMPLAIN TO ABOUT INTERNET ORDERS

Chargebacks can be issued up to 6 months from the original transaction date. Longer in case of fraud. Hope that helps.

RE: KISS 450 REGION HACK

Hey Nelly,

If you get this let me know, you`ve got a bloody good machine there - not much use to us without a region hack, but if you sort it, let me know.

RE: RCE Problems

That was very nice for the company concerned. it`s my experience that most NC600 weren`t RCE compatible, regardless of the firmware version. There would have been 2 options to rectify this:-

1) provide another chip for RCE switching
2) provide a firmware replacement

Most decent mod companies should have been able to offer one or the other. Who was it as a matter of interest?

RE: AD-M 512 - SACD Compatible

Thats a big fat NO. Bit like asking if your old betamax VCR can play VHS tapes :-)

RE: Looking for online hardware retailer

try a search on YAHOO, you`ll find a good selection, try a search pattern such as "code free dvd" or "multi region"

RE: Sony PQ1 DVD Region hack?

Theres no hack. It can be chipped, just do an internet search for dvd upgrades on YAHOO, you should find a reputable dealer.

RE: Multi Region Hacks for Panasonic XV 10

MR DVD - Those are the instructions for Techtronic`s multi mod chip upgrade.

Mr W - This is a documented service feature, used for displaying the region on the front panel. You cannot change the region this way.

The XV10 must be upgraded, there is no handset hack.

RE: Region 3 hack for Sony DVP-PQ1 PICOT DVD Player.

There is no hack for this player. Be warned, if you are offered an "none chipped" upgrade for this machine, you will lose all TEXT from your on screen setup menu.

RE: anybody here used these suppliers before?

I hope you realised those prices exclude VAT !

RE: dvd remote for philips dvd recorder 980

A standard philips DVD remote should handle most functions (except recording), you need to contact an authorised Philips dealer to purchase a replacement remote.

The 980 can be hacked for multi region using the standard Philips One4All hack - but the DVD Player needs to have the remote setting changed from "DVD Recorder" to "DVD Player" to apply the hack.

For such an expensive machine, I think it`s worth purchasing a proper, original replacement remote.

RE: does anyone know any hacks for the toshiba sd220e

I can`t emphasise enough the risks of upgrading DVD Players using a disc sent by someone you don`t know. I would advise you find a dealer that is willing to do the upgrade, cause then if *THEY* screw your machine they have to fix it or replace it!

RE: DVD PIONEER DV- 515

There are no original handset hacks for the following brands:-

Sony
Pioneer
Panasonic
Toshiba

RE: www.bigpockets.co.uk

This is such a blatant ad...come on moderators!

RE: Need multi region hack for Panasonic DMR-E20

There is no known hack or even upgrade for this machine as yet, although it is being worked on.

RE: Panasonic dvd-rv31

Hmmm, a 4.7GB download --- are you serious?
No, if you`d scrolled back just a few messages, you`d have seen that you can`t download this on the net, it`s a DVD-R disc not a CD-R. It must be purchased, rented or you need to take your machine to a dealer who will use the disc on your machine.

RE: Panasonic dvd xv10 hack needed

There`s no hack it needs to be chipped. As far as I know, only 3 companies in the UK have this machine sorted for region free. Try a good search engine.

RE: need help with Sony DVP NS300, not multiregion hack or macrovision though

The NS300 is not rated to read CD-R or CD-RW media, as such you will have very little luck in getting home-burned Video CDs and Audio CDs to play on your machine. As Kota states above, good results have been reported on Sonys with Princo or Vivastar media. Try www.247cdr.co.uk

Steve M.

Please note, I am in no way affiliated with the above company.

RE: mp3 on the Samsung DVD-709?

Simply not possible!
There`s no way a SAM 709 can play MP3

RE: Goodbye from Steve Hoyle

I`m sorry to see you end your top class posting in this manner Steve, I hope you reconsider the offer that Reviewer has offered us, it`s not the right time for extra advertising for us as well, but I`ll certainly be giving the advertising some thought come March/April when Sony, Panasonic and Pioneer launch their new machines - we`ve got some massive overheads at the moment while we move to a new hosting company and redo the website.

Steve M.
The `other` Steve, you know, from the other company :-)

RE: Is there a software download available for multiregion DVD upgrade?

Would that be a spot of sarcasm Steve? Nah, thought not.
BTW, you can get blank DVD-Rs for a fiver now, so that would be a much more reasonable 2555 GBP :-)

RE: Cyberhome’s lack of support

Hi,

As a previous seller of the Cyberhome ADL-528 I can confirm that we have had a mountain of problems with these machines and have also experienced the same troubles with the Cyberhome Service Centre. In fact, I would go as far as saying that the quite awful "technical support" and "after sales service" offered by Cyberhome had probably tarnished our reputation somewhat.

In many instances our customers have gotten fed up waiting for Cyberhome to sort out a WORKING replacement and we have simply exchanged the unit ourselves. I can re-count a few instances where Cyberhome`s (and our own) replacements also failed out in the field - we at Mail UK never despatch or sell an untested machine, every DVD Player is verified as working before it leaves us.

Every consignment of AD-L528s we received in from Cyberhome had at least a couple of DOAs, but that could easily be attributed to their carrier so I will not make further comment on that.

The AD-L528 is supposed to be a step up from the previous machine the AD-N512, but in practice we found the 512 to be a good, reliable machine with the same level of video and audio performance.

Mail UK discontinued the AD-L528 during December 2001, having carried it for approx 4 months.

My advice to anyone considering the AD-L528 would be......don`t! Spend a little extra on a good, solid brand that you can trust.

RE: Need help hacking!!!!

Also, some other dealers will use the disc on your machine for you while you wait, it only takes half a minute.

RE: Sony Region Hack AT LAST!

OK, here`s what I think happened. Final Fantasy R1 is an RCE disc, now, as we know, RCE discs come up with the map of the world and tell you the disc cannot be played on non-region 1 machines. Now, some RCE discs can be played on even UNMODIFIED machines, such as the Toshibas and some Sonys. By selecting, TITLE 1, CHAPTER 1, some RCE discs can play, even on an unmodified SONY DVD Player.

I have personally been able to make Hollow Man work on a non-modified Sony DVP-S336, by using the TITLE and SKIP buttons, but THE PATRIOT cannot be played by this method. I would guess that this is how our friend above managed to make Final Fantasy play. I actually own this disc on R1, so I will try and reproduce that and post my findings here.

I would also like to point out that you will achieve NOTHING by going into the service menu (TITLE, CLEAR, POWER) and could potentially wreck your laser alignment if you hap-hazardly change settings.
There is NO REMOTE HACK using the Sony DVD Players original remote control, so you CANNOT make this machine multi region no matter WHAT KEYS you press!

I hope that ends this tedious thread!

RE: SONY DVD NS300

Unfortunately advertising is not allowed in the forum, so no, Steve cannot tell you which remote is needed, as he would then be advertising his own product here. Catch 22 :-(

I recommend a search on some good search engines, for multi region dealers and then ask them if they have the remote mod. Only dealers have access to the special remote, it is not something an end-user can purchase.

RE: Am i able to watch copied vcd`s on my samsung 511

No, thats not true. Its the design of the laser that prevents the CDR and CDRW media from being read. ALL DVD Players can playback Video CDs.

RE: Philips DVDR 1000

I`m hearing rumours that a One4All hack as surfaced, can anyone else shed any light on this?

Steve

RE: A-TREND HELIOS HACK PROBS

If the hack isn`t working, you need to update the firmware - contact me via private email, I have the correct firmware disc.
