It can`t be changed back, BUT, the hack DOESN`T invalidate the guarantee! So if u need 2 take it back, take it back. The warranty is only invalidated if you tamper inside the unit!

I have just purchased a Philips DVDQ40 and I am looking for a multi region Hack. I am quite new to this game so can you can you make the instructions easily understood. Thanks alot.

Is the Philips Q40 a standard player or a DVD-ROM (PC player).

If it`s a stand alone player, then it should use the Philips 750 Hack.

U need 2 buy a One4All Digital Controller (Get this from Argos, £24.99, you can take it back and get your money back within 13 days...just say it doesn`t configure 2 your DVD!).

Then, follow the instructions for the Philips 750 hack (on this site, under the `Info` section of this site), You`ll understand them when u read the One4All Manual!

Just follow this:

1. Set the One4All controller to use the DVD by using the setup code 0539 (You`ll understand when u get the controller)

Then:

1. When you`ve set up the controller 2 work the DVD player, Press the MAGIC button ONCE (If you hold it it doesn`t work) then press 0 then 8 then 5.
2. The display on the dvd unit will look like this:

3. On the Philips controller that came with the player, type:

222 222 005 255
(The last digit does not appear on the unit! It just shows as a dot!)

4. Then press play. If it worked, it will say NO DISC the moment you press play.

5. Turn the player on standby on the unit and leave it for about 10 secs.

7. Turn it on and watch any region DVD!

PS. This will not be deleted if you disconnect at the mains! It`s there forever and doesn`t affect your warranty!

I have the q40 and the one4all hack works, any new firmware, vcd playback is a bit choppy
