Page 1 of multi region hack for toshiba SD210E

Is there a known hack for the region 2 toshiba SD210E DVD player or is the only way via chipping?
I am a total novice re DVDs and about to buy the above. Can anyone recommend a good source for cheap multiregion or just rgion 2 discs?

Toshiba SD210E Play Region 1 RCE discs easily!

Put in your region 1`disc and let play until region warning appears. Press \`MEMORY\` \`1\` \`PLAY\`.

It really is as easy as that.

The 210E seems to be hackable by remote - 2 features have already been found:
Press POWER - ZOOM - 6 - 0 - 6 - ZOMM to get your firmware version.
Another interesting one: Press POWER - ZOOM - 1 - 0 - 2 - ZOOM and the drive is searching for a disc - then it says: "No disc" - Seems to be a firmware upgrade feature...

I have a Toshiba SD-110E which i would like to play region 1 discs.
I followed the instructions you posted for the SD-210E model and tried to use it for my player, but without success. When i insert the region 1 disc in the player the message DISC ERROR appears and the player will not accept the codes: MEMORY\ 1 \ PLAY.
If you know the hacking codes for the SD-110E please post instructions.

I didnt expect those hacks to work but i tryed them anyway, obviously nothing happened, what do you mean by "he can now play another 20 or 30 disks !!" ??? has typing in this code damaged my player???

the hack may work for RCE protected DVD`s and there are about 20 - 30 of them ...

The RCE workaround for the Toshiba`s- doesnt it only play the film???? as in you cant access menus and special features because when you type in the code the film plays straight away aparantly, it doesnt go to the menu screen.
Does this RCE workaround work even if your player is not multi region??

yes the RCE trick works even on single region players to play the film but it`s only for early toshiba players - up to 100 and doesnt work on 110 and 210
