Philips DVD 622 Thanks but...

santi (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 3rd December 2001, 23:37

Just wanted to thank everyone on this site. As a DVD newbie I have found it an invaluable resource. Through the info i`ve read here, i purchased a Philips DVD622 at a knockdown price from John Lewis (display model) and followed the instructions to hack it, which i believe i accomplished. However i don`t actually own any region 1 DVDs yet and was wondering if there was some way to confirm my player was now multiregion before actually spending my cash.

TIA

Santi.

Yes there is!
When you typed the code in, after typing 222 555 e.t.c. u press play and it said NO DISC, yes? When you pressed play, if it worked it should say NO DISC the moment u pressed PLAY. If it hung then it diddn`t work.
Hope this helps!
Adam

Cheers Adam, it didn`t crash when i entered the code. I managed to borrow a region 1 dvd from a mate and it worked fine. Now the only problem is what DVDs to buy....

BTW I used a one for all 4 digital urc-7541, £19.99 from Dixons, if anyones interested.
