Page 1 of Samsung DVD-1080p7

Just bought a Samsung DVD-1080P7 upscaling dvd player. Now I need a hack for it so I can play all regions. Is there a hack for this model yet??

I have the 1080P USA edition.. Can`t believe there is only a hack for the region2 version.. Anyone?

hi there, have been after a hack for this machine and found this.....but as yet i have not tried it so i dont know if it works yet..

first of all its supposed to only work on r2 player, but here goes..


This hack comes from a Samsung HD870 hack and works for a Samsung HD1080P7 region 2 player:

This works with the Samsung remote supplied with the DVD player.

Turn on the Player with no disc on the tray. The tv screen and the dvd lcd will display "No Disk"

2. Press the "Repeat" key on the Samsung remote control

3. Press the keys: "5 7 5 3 8" on the remote. Number 2 appears on the screen for a short time.

4. Press "9". Number 9 is displayed on the screen.

5. Press the "Open/close" button in the remote. The tray will open. Leave it open for a few seconds.

6. Just press the "On/off" button in the remote.

7. You now have a multi-region dvd player!! ..........well possibly :/

Does the above instructions also work for the region 1 player?

* turn on dvd player
* make sure there`s no dvd in closed tray
* press `repeat` button
* `no disc` disappears in left corner
* press 29334 if you have a R1 player
57538 if you have a R2 player
56732 if you have a R3 player
76884 if you have a R4 player
53814 if you have a R5 player
24462 if you have a R6 player
* current region code is visible in left corner
* press 9 for code free
* press `Standby`
* enjoy!!

Is it me or does it just not work for a region 1 player?

For the HD870 at least to get the region hack to work you need to downgrade the firmware.

its in Polish but click on the link down the bottom called "tutaj" in blue.

Then burn the files to a CD and use this to downgrade the firmware in the player. Then the region hack should work.

Not tried this myself but I got this info of avforums.
