Power on, open dvd tray and press 8421 on the remote.region 2 will appear on your screen.press enter to change regions 1 to 6 . pressing enter till 9 will make it region free.close tray.
note: i also found on this model it was necessary to change the TV system format found in the dvd set-up menu from Pal to Pal 60,otherwise some regions had characters moving like puppets!
