ive recently just brought this dvd player/home cinema system and have also been looking for the region hack turns after a long search the only way to do it is with a new remote you can buy them from this site www.dvdcodes.net/prods/panasonic/pan300plus.php they are priced at £14.99 and apparently with one click of a button the dvd player will be multi region. At the moment i am unsure if this works but a friend who also has the same player has just ordered one. So as soon as i know the outcome i will message back. :D

Sweet, thanks, that would be great! I was just reading about that and am very curious to see if it works.

Panasonic - Sony - Pioneer Dvd `Hack` remotes.
Ironically the cheaper dvd players can be made multi-region with simple remote commands sent from the that was supplied with the unit. Or they were already capable of playing discs from all regions straight out of the box. However, this is not the case for the more expensive Sony, Panasonic and pioneer units. Although you can send special commands from a palm-pilot or magic remote it is a difficult procedure. This Company selas[at]vt.seipoceniuneg have made a remote that sends all the commands in one simple key press. Such `chipped` remotes have been around for a good while but were usually one use only, rented and always expensive. This Companies are only £9.99 inc P&P and can also be used as a spare remote too as they have the standard play, pause, stop and menu functions on them as well. You can make up to 8 dvd players multi-region with this control. So you could sell the unit on and probably get your money back.
· Once unlocked the machine stays unlocked forever.
· You can still use your old remote.
· Aside from making it multi-region, no other changes are made to the machine. You can still play region 2 discs as before.

Hope this is of some help Cheaper alternative than buying an all for one

Hi there,

I have a the same machine - SC-PT 450 - (part of a home cinema set-up). I just bought a chipped remote on EBAY. It worked perfectly (but you can only use it once). Here`s the link:

http://www.d*******.co.uk/

The EBAY price was £14.99 plus £1.00 postage. It arrived within 24 hours.

Check his feedback on EBAY (d*******). Many satisfied customers.
