Page 1 of Aiwa XD-DV170 region hack

Has anyone who has a UK model (bought from Makro) managed to get the region hack from the region hack page to work? Or any region other hack to work? I`ll be buggered if I can get any to work! I get the `factory` display up, but it still refuses to play R1 discs.

and have spent the time since looking for a hack 12 months on still no luck

Tell me about it! I`m trying to decide if it`s worth splashing out the £83 for techtronics to chip it.

Heard something about an lg4210 hack on this site re the xd dv170 - know anything about it??

That`s £84 plus VAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that`s just ripping the backside out of it...

The Aiwa DV170 is one of the few players that Techtronics doesn`t sell a mod kit for, quite interesting point I think. Why don`t they sell a kit for around £30 like the other players?

It is possible that there is some sort of trickery with the buttons although that region 4 hack definitely doesn`t work on our region 2 machines.

I am continuing the quest to multi-region heaven.
