Hi all,

Don`t know if anyone can help, but if they can, I would be over the moon...

I have a Matshita DVD Rom SR 8176 player on my pc, and I`m desperately trying to make it region free.

Thw system on my pc is Windows ME, which means I can`t run "true" dos mode on it, to change the firmware etc.

I found a site that has the firmware for this, but it will only work in "true" dos mode.

Please help if you can :-)

Format a floppy disk with the system files on. Copy onto the floppy the files which enable you to flash your drive. Reboot the PC from the floppy disk, your PC will be running in full dos mode.

From a command prompt (or dos box/session) within windows type FORMAT A:/S to manually format a floppy. You can just use Windows explorer and do a right hand click on your drive A: icon and then select format, but make sure you select to transfer the system files.
