If you can get hold of original Pinco cdr`s they may play on it I have a samsung M105 that is not cdr compatable except for princo`s they are well known to work with fussy cd&dvd players they use a different coating to other manufacturers.
I have a link on my home pc to online trader who will send send a trial pack for you to try.
Intrested post here and I will post later.

MESSAGE FOR PRESA: I am also interested in Princo cd`s - If I use them can I copy dvd`s and play them on my Sharp dvd?? Does the dvd player need to be multi-region to play copied dvd`s? I`d appreciate some help, you can contact me on DLEIFTIHW.L[at]MOC.DLROWLTN
Thanks TOM W.
Sorry phil maccrackin for the hijack of this thread.
Tom W I have no experiece of vcd`s other than to make picture shows to show still photos on
a 32" tv.
Steps to take perhaps
Proove the player can play cdr`s perhaps if you post a thread other Sharp owners maybe able to help.
When researching how to do the picture shows I came across this web site you may find answers here.

If you need to track down Princo cdr`s try
http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/SVP_Communications_80_Minute_Discs_2.html
The sample list is
2 Datasafe Silver Premuim CDRs
2 Unbranded CDRs (made by Ritek)
1 Verbatim CDR (made by Mitsubushi)
1 CDR with a Black writing surface
1 CDR with a Purple writing surface
1 CDR with a Pure Silver writing surface
I think the Princo`s are the 2 Datasafe Silver Premuim CDRs
Phone up and check a guy at a computer fair told me that Ritek had taken over Princo and maybe had ceased production of them (keep fingers crossed)
I can understand your frustration with the Sharp a good machine like the Samsung hampered by its inability to play cdr`s but what it does in does very well.
Good Luck Presa
