Page 1 of sony region free remote hack?

I don`t know if this`ll work as i don`t have a reion 1 dvd to test it. In the diag menu, there is an option to automatically configure the drive. When you go in this menu, there are options to configure DVD-DL (dual layer) and DVD-SL (single layer) as well as cds. I`m wondering, if you insert a region 1 dvd in the drive to configure it, does it set the player to region 1? To get into the diag menu, put the player in standby with no disc in, then press title, then clear, then power. I have a DVP-S336 by the way.

you should not mess around in that menu ,, you will screw the machine

am I the only one with the way foreward,?you can remote hack
all sony models from the 300 onwards,i have done it.
recently on the 400 it was simple.
I am not in any way a dvd hacker but, seem to be ,after reading some mail
the only one to have done it. be interesting to here your thoughts.

hi can you help me as you seem to know how to get this dvd working i have a sony cinema surround sound dvd and have some vcds and they won`t work on it do you know how to get them working please

are the vcds on cdr? My dvd player doesn`t recognise cdr for some bizzare reason, sez so on the box too.

Chris we share the first & last name letter. Could you give me the hack for the Sony CX-860 or 850. They share the same remote control and their service menu can be accessed by same code.


I have been told by my friends only a mod would work. I hacked my progressive scan RCA RC6000P single. I know how to enter the Service Menu on a RCA/Thomson F-38310 HDTV and my 2 Sony mega changers. Can we help each other out? :) C. C. Ryder

Is it hackable & how? Everyone keeps saying I need 2 get it chipped.

Hi Guy,s....i have a sony DAV S-300, home theatre system, can i hack it for multi-region ?...and if so, will it then recognise copied audio and DVD,s.....at the moment, on entering a copied disc it displays..." NO DISC"....frustrated and in need of assistance !!!!!!! Cheers. Gary.
