Can`t speak from experience, but Samsung keeps coming up with skipping alerts...

The Philips is rock stable as far as I know...

I have an 811, and the reote hack works. Not had any problems with skipping, though the layer change can sometimes be noticeable, (when compared to a Wharfedale)

Don`t know anything about Phillips apart from several threads in the Hacks section talk about a permanant Hack for most Phillips players that has been found.
