Has MP3 capability over the 700, but has anybody read a review ?
Does it`s introduction at this price mean that the DVPNS700`s initial selling price of £450 was just wishful thinking. or is the 705 a much inferior deck ?

I haven`t seen the full specs yet, but it looks identical to the NS700 bar the ability to play MP3 files (big deal...).
There is an early review on an Australian site of the NS905 which is much changed over it`s predecessor, including slimmer casework and a 12bit, 108mhz video DAC!! Oh, and the review mentions that this may be one of the first Sony DVD players to address the MPEG Chroma error problem...
The NS700`s original list price has been heavily discounted by most retailers to around £150 (or £190 for MR upgrade) so WebElectricals discounted price for the new model looks about right.
We`ll have to wait and see how the new model stacks up but early impressions seem to indicate that MP3 is the only major change.

Thanks. V. helpful.
I think the pic at WebElectricals is actually the 700.
Didn`t I meet you in the Western Desert around 1942 ???
Just brought a 700 Multi-region today -- except it`s not Multi-region at all - tried two R1 cd`s (die hard + the simpsons season 2) and it doesn`t want to know about either of them...Thanks Mr Richer...
Looks like it is going back...and I`ll get one of these instead...

RE: New Sony DVPNS 705
I bought NS 700 multi region one 3 weeks ago works just fine don`t know about RCE titles though anyone help?.
If you use WebElectricals for mail order, would be grateful if you posted if it was a good/bad experience.
It`s £214.95 at Superfi. Any one used them before - are they a good suppiler.
