DVD player

Stuart James Holland (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 15th September 2002, 22:00

I`m hoping someone out there might be able to provide me with some assistance.

I wish to purchase a new DVD player which has the following functions :

Auto region select; RCE compatible; Macrovision disabled, NTSC to PAL convertor (internal).

I would prefer the model to have be able to do all of this without being chipped as I did have a Samsung709 which did all the above with a simple hack unfortunately the Samsung died the other week and I need to replace it.

If anyone could offer some guidance in terms of models to buy or models to avoid.

Thanks

Stuart Holland

Stuart

As a 709 owner now for 3 years

What happened to yours. Did you use it a lot?

I ask these questions as I only use mine no more than 3-4 times a week at the most and would be p***ed if it died

Don`t the new the new Sammy machines do the same as this one?

I use(d) (sob) my sammy loads over the last 2.5 yrs.

The laser unit went and It would cost £180 to fix it, as far as I know you can still hack the later samsung models but not macrovision.
