BI POLAR?????? ANY GOOD?????

Chris Barham (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 9th October 2002, 01:24

After spending a bit of cash on my front speaker set up and sub, i thinks its time to replace the old rear speakers.

However, i need to know if bi-polars are any good. do they add to the sound field or just mess it up.

Yes, they`re excellent - the rear sound is much less directional and convincing, wrapping you in bings, bongs, bangs and booms (depending on the film).
Geezer1 knows what`s coming..... get a pair of Misson M77DS ("Diffuse Sound") speakers - Richer Sounds do them for £99. Fantastic speaker at a bargain price. They are officially discontinued, but seem to filter out into the Richer stores fairly regularly.
In common with all Misson`s DS range, you can mount them upside down against the ceiling for a very discreet appearance, although if you have a high ceiling, this may be a little TOO high. Alternatively shove `em at about 3 feet above head level, on the side walls about level with the seating position.
