TV NOISE PROBLEMS

illusio (Competent) posted this on Friday, 11th October 2002, 11:13

Can someone help me out. I have my dvd player and vcr connected to my television via a scart switch thing. The only problem is when I watch a dvd I get the T.V sound coming through at the quiet bits. Not good when you watch an intense film and all you hear is bloody Eastenders !!!
Anyone know a solution ???

I had a similar problem and it was down to a dodgy scart lead, something to do with the tv tuner signal wasn`t being turned off so you could hear both and as you said you only notice it when the dvd is quiet.

managed to work out which one was playing up by swapping leads around and replaced it. try connecting your dvd straight to the TV and see if it goes as it could be the switcher box..

Are you using a good scart lead as this sounds like a breakthrough caused by bad shielding, borrow a better lead and see if it cures it.
