Difference Between DVD-RW and DVD+RW?

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me if there is a difference between DVD-RW and DVD+RW? I`m not sure if they are the same but everyone seems to talk about the two different formats.

Yeah..... DVD+RW is the Media that Philips DVD recorders use and DVD-RW is the media that the Panasonic DVD recorders use....Both different formats
