Suggest good quality £700 TV from comet please
I have £700 Comet vouchers. Please can anyone suggest a good TV as my 25 year old one has just blew up. I am wondering wether I should go for a wide screen and a receiver or just a good quality TV. I already have a DVD player.
All help greatly appreciated.

Coolsurfer,
My advice would be to definitely go for widescreen, particularly as you already have a DVD player.
Find out if Comet has any special deals on and let me know which models fall within your price range and I`ll get back to you.

Sorry to sound like a cynic, but I`d be tempted to sell the vouchers at a loss and buy the telly from John Lewis.
Reason is, ( and I don`t work for John Lewis ), their prices are usually better AND they don`t force a 5 year insurance plan ( warranty ) down your throat because they usually throw one in for free ( No 11 Downing St might have just changed all of that ). PLUS, now this is the really good bit, they do actually fix your telly when it goes wrong! Strange through this may sound, Comet have been known to have problems in this area.
AND, as a bonus, if you don`t like the telly, they`ll come and collect it and bring you a different model.
Now this all seems too good to be true....but believe me it really is!
I`ve done this with tellies, washing machines, ovens, etc etc, you name it, John Lewis ( for me ) is the ONLY place for things you plug into a wall socket!

Well I would suggest you buy off the net.
You`ll either save money on the TV you want ( I got a Comet £699 TV for £469 ) or you`ll get a better TV for your £700.
I`d recommend unbeatable.co.uk.
They deliver quickly, their prices are awesome and they offer a 21 day no quibble return policy, as long as the TV is returned in as new condition.
I`m amazed people still buy anything on thre high street to be honest.
Another example ? I wanted a sony minidisc player. Local sony centre wanted £350. I got it for £249 off the net with a sony personal MD player thrown in for now !!
