Just wondered if anyone had invested in this format yet?

How does it compare to compact disc ...and how much is the hardware?

I`ve just taken delivery of a Philips LX8000SA and the first thing to say about this system is how good DVD playback is in terms of picture and sound.I only possess one SACD, and am very impressed with the sound quality (I`m a classical music enthusiast) though very concerned at the online prices charged by a number of companies for discs i.e. up to £25 for a single disc!
In my recent experience,an integrated system with DVD/SACD is a good way to start.In my case the Philips alowed me to upgrade from Dolby Digital (built in to the TV) to DTS and I don`t know how I ever coped without a subwoofer!.I paid £600 for the system and am delighted with it,though will not dive into SACD as quickly as I originally thought because of disc prices.
