Page 1 of AWIA 370 or LG 3350e ???
Hardware Forum
Having read some articles about my previous short list players the Encore 450 and the SD100e I have gone off these.
I now think my purchase will be a) AWIA 370 or b) LG3350e.
Can anyone help with the good and bad points of each one and where the best place to purchase from???
Many Thanks

RE: AWIA 370 or LG 3350e ???
Yeah, for the Aiwa go to my site (http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com) amd mote that it has a good points/bad points page, and for the LG goto my "links" page for ITTroll`s page on sed machine..(however, Troll hasn`t posted anything on his players bad points!!)
Basically though, the LG has an onboard Dolby Digital decoder, and some extra "bookmarking" style functions, but cant play VCD from CDR (apparently it can play original pressed VCD though).
The Aiwa has no decoder, but does have Dolby and DTS digital outputs, and CAN play CDR VCD`s.
If this fails, email me for more info! :o)
AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Jimbo
I have tried my StarTrek Original VCD`s on the Lg and it just spits em out, have not got any others ( nor do i intend to get any ) but the same VCD`s play on my Aiwa.
just to add to the question, i like the LG better.

They are both good players much the same realy ok the LG has 5.1 out which i spose could be useful to some but i think at the end of the day it comes down to looks and which look you prefer i have purchased an LG for myself and an Aiwa as an xmas gift and they are both stonkers.

Well I think I like the look of the LG more to be honest. SOrry but i think i am more inclined to go for the LG now, i used to like the look of the Aiwa......but now it`s all changed. Just got to wait a few days till i can get it though!!!!!

Hi All!
What a stonking forum! Just when I want to buy a DVD player I bump into this! Great, super, fantastic...
Having read as much of these messages as poss I`m settling for the LG3350, because it`s got great reviews here, but, more importantly, a funky remote - one that glows in the dark, which is how I watch films on TV. Neat. With a remot jog dial. Cool.
Think I`ll give dabs.com a visit (or can someone suggest a better place?).
Sorry, Jimbo - appreciate your enthusiasm for the Aiwa, and if I have trouble getting the LG I may try my local Comet for one - but that glowing remote, mmmm. Mind you switching off Macro would be neat. Where do you get the Techtronics version LG from? (£20 seems a bit cheap for a new processor and installation though - bet it`s a hack really...)
Thanks all.

Trouble is it is now £250 all in with the Macrovision hack.
Whilst at http://www.dabs.com/ it is £189 but that is with Macro intact. So the Macro hack is in effect costing you £61.
