Phillips LX3000D Noise issue

Paul_Norman (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 9th January 2003, 13:27

I recently purchased a Philips LX3000D DVD player, I have noticed that whilst playing DVD`s its pretty noisy. When the sound is low and actors are talking you can here the player above the sound.

Is this Normal?

Any replies gratefully received!

I`m having the same problem. The fan is incredibly noisy and watching films is unpleasant, particularly when there is only dialogue. Have you solved this or spoken to Phillips?

I`ve had the LX3000d for two weeks but haven`t used it for most of that time because the fan is so loud. You know what it`s like, once you hear it that`s all you can concentrate on.

Have been back to the retailer and will be exchanging it tomorrow. The question is what to replace it with ?

I picked on up on Monday after my old Wharfedale died.

Its the 25S sub model (so the box claims in one place, then it claims its a 22S in another place and a note "Do not Sell - use 25S")

However it is totally silent.. so maybe they fixed the fan... or I`m just lucky.

Steve
