A friend has an old ferguson TV and on the back it has a 9pin socket. It is round and a little larger than an s-video input. but I just don`t know what it is....
Anybody got any ideas?

Is it reeeeeeeally ancient? If so could it be for the "remote" control (which were on wires in the days before IR)!

It is pretty ancient but it does have an IR remote so I don`t know if it is that.
I don`t know the model.
I will try and find out. Thanks for your replies!
RE: 9-pin socket on old ferguson TV. What is it?
I know what it is. I used to have one.
It was on a stereo tv , but before nicam was invented. It is an audio input which over-rides the sound on channel 7 or 8 so that early stereo videos would play in stereo. Sounded good too, if i remember rightly.
The socket is a 9 pin din socket, but a 5pin din plug will fit (I think).
the tv would get the picture from the aerial lead and the sound would come in seperately in stereo.
