Surround EX/ES Upgrade Problem...

0A1B2C (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 23rd February 2003, 00:31

Hello,
I would like my next major upgrade to be Surround EX/ES, but the thing is, the back wall of my room doesn't have sufficient space to hold two more bipolar or standard speakers.

I was thinking… would it be OK for me to use a pretty powerful centre speaker and bi-wire it instead of using the standard two speakers?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Adam Walby.

Adam,

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but when you say your back wall can`t hold two more speakers, are you saying you already have some speakers on it?

you can`t biwire 1 speaker from 2 outputs without possible harm to the amp.

My two L and R surround speakers which I have now are placed on the side walls where they are suposed to be.

There is a door at the back of my room which is the big probem. There is only around 8-inches of space between the door and the roof.

The surrounds what I have now are Eltax HT-2 bipolars. Would be using pretty small speakers be the only way around it?

Any ideas on what I could do?

Regards,
Adam Walby,
