DVD-R probs. Movie skips or stops towards the end
I`m using a Pioneer 104 to burn my disks with Nero 5.5.9.0. I`ve tried bulkpaq Gen 3 and gave up totally on them - lots of problems. Since then I got some White Label Gen 4, 2x DVD-R`s which seem better, but I am still getting lockups and skipping towards the end of a movie on my Dansai 1010.
Now here`s where it get`s interesting. I`ve been doing some nice Avery afterburner labels for the disks I`ve been burning, and so I thought I`d try an experiment......one of the disks that would always skip near the end - I ripped off the label and it played perfectly. I`ve done the same for 2 or 3 other problem disks with the same results.
So here`s the question: does this sound familiar to anyone, and any suggestions for making non-printable disks look pretty? (maybe other labelling kits?)

Hello,
What are you using to stick the labels onto the disks?
If they are not stuck onto the disk right, it will couse the disk to spin unevenly and couse alot of playback problems as you have just found out.
Hope you sort things out, regards, John72.

try using RecordNow MAX for burning. If your using dvd2one- nero has been known to cause problems. I used Recordnow and it works fine.

I`m using Avery Afterburner software and self-adhesive labels. It comes with a quite nifty gizmo to apply the labels to the DVD which should ensure accurate and even application, but I guess there might be slight errors. Something`s got to be causing the problem.
I might try gloss labels - wondering if there`s a "grip" issue

Upgrade your nero to the latest revision and if possible use Record Nowmax or Prassi. The two brands you are using are made by PRINCO and there quality control sucks, use another brand IE RITEK TDK I have found these the most compatable discs on the market .BULKPaq is also known as BULKCRAP by some people!!!
