http://www.digital-point.co.uk/dvd.asp has now reduced the price of the excemulti-region Panasonic DVD-RAM/DVD-R Recorder to £309. That price includes free next working day delivery if ordered before 12 mid-day.
Thats the lowest price in the UK. The 2nd lowest price E50(Region 2) is £314.95 at http://www.prcdirect.co.uk

There is a huge fight between these two websites as to who has the lowest priced E50 in UK. These stores have been able to lower prices because stock availability is healthy. It`s a shame that High Street Shops such as Dixons, Currys & Comet are selling the E50 for £449.95 a full £100 more than they are selling the Philips 880. These retailers are greedy!!!

The lowest priced DVD-RAM discs are priced £2.98 each at http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk

Cheaper DVD-R discs(under £1) can be obtained from various websites.

If you want a DVD-RAM disc in a catridge(caddy) the lowest priced is £5.99 from various websites, but because of their relatively cheap delivery charges the best website is http://www.cd-rmedia.co.uk

The price of the E50(at least the Multi-region version) is unlikely to fall below it`s current £309 as most retailers charge £20 to £50 for the Multi-region option, so it`s a good time to buy

Hi Folks,

Got my Panny E50 from digital point and came the next working day, excellent service. This is my first experience in DVD recording and all I can say this machine "rocks". Even in LP video mode the quality is very good.

What silly games Digital-point and PRC Direct are playing; each trying to beat the other by a few pence. The fact is PRC are not comparing like with like. They offer the Region 2 version at £307.96 while Digital-point are offering the Multi -Region version at £308, a much better bargain altogether and giving real value for money. To compete PRC will have to knock £40 off their MR version. Any bets on which of them will drop their price on the MR version below the magical £300 mark and sell the cheapest DMRE50 in the UK?
