Transferring vhs (pre-recorded to dvd using Panasonic dmr-e50

smilerag (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 26th August 2003, 11:24

I have just purchased a Panasonic DVD recorder with the intention of converting my mountain of vhs tapes to dvd, but it seems that it isn`t straight forward.

As soon as i press record i get the message that recording of this material is not permitted.

How can i can i get round this (Lecktropacks have mentioned a converter box for £200 quid but is there a cheaper option?

You require a de-macrovsion / teletext channel protection remover.
Its a simple all in one scart lead !
Normal cost is £40.

Sonel`s Macro Master Pro will remove both Macrovision and CGMS protection, and is cheap as chips at £22.99 including postage.

I`ve got a macro master (bought before the release of the macro master pro), amd it doesn`t seem to remove the cgms protection. Is the macro master pro different?
