Do you get any BIOS error beeps when you turn on the machine.
If not, have you connected the PC speaker in your case to the motherboard to give you a clue.

Voltages for AGP are 3.3 volts and 1.5 volts, this information should be in your motherboard manual.

Had composite / vga input 15 inch.
Think it was £299 !!

Dont want to start a storm but the Alba DVD45 from argos for 37.99 seems pretty good for the price given these are going to be secondary players.
It too supports MP3, Jpeg`s piccys, DTS, Dolby digital.
Plays RCE region 1 no probs !
I heard from local stockist that yamada DVD caused so much grief in the returns theyve stopped trading in them now.

You can always try the PS 2 slider.
This doesn`t invalidate your warranty like the Flip lid (The case remains intact).
It costs around £25 comes with DVD boot disc and CDR boot disc.
Apparently all u have to do is remove the front edge off the disc tray.

Got myself an ACER 230XV.
Display pretty good.
No RPC firmware for multiregioning of DVD drive (SR-8177 same as toshiba laptops)
No problems as yet.
Battery life good for 2hrs watching DVD movie before recharge requirement.
2 year warranty.( 1st year global coverage)
Impressed so far !!!

I run 3 simultaneous sessions of messenger 1 on server, 2 on remote PC`s.
(On messenger enable socks5).
After installation on main server.
On your remote pc IE set up for LAN / PROXY server enter your server ip address plus 4480 as socket.
Off you go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No problems with online banking (HSBC)

I live quite close to these guys in peterboro and they are brilliant.
I bought a second hand DVD player from them, then upgraded my telly (purchased from powerhouse), found to my dismay when I watch R1 movies via SVideo the sync was shot. Spoke to these guys for 15 mins resolved the Sony telly needed a change of setting whilst in engineering mode to rx sync from NTSC input.
Problem solved no charge.
They multi mod`d my old A100. Chip failed well past the years warranty, took it back, guys replaced chip free of charge.

We need more of these AV dealers on the high street !!!!!!!

Good service doesn`t always cost a premium !

The throughput scart connection on the transmitter unit is blocking the 12v av trigger on the scart connected to the TV.
This is why the TV no longer switches to AV when a video cassette is used.
Or the transmitter box scart throughput is faulty ????

PS2 connection to AOL broadband (UK)

Anyone out there managed it yet ?
I link it to PC ethernet socket (Running proxy+, AOL connected)
Static IP address allocated pings Okay during network test.
Completes DNS test (fixed this afternoon)
Now fails ping test.

Still can`t get it to work.
Any ideas ?????????? (apart from moving from current ISP)

Yes I agree I live in East Northants and have seen at least 4 Sky digital receiver systems with digital artefacts.
All systems displayed 3/4 signal strength and quality.
Systems were Grundig, and Panasonic.
I would probably think that Sky have dropped their bit rate on certain channels to allocate more bandwidth for other digital channels.
Another possibilty is interference ??? Are local cellular sites using p2p radio systems @ 10-11G H/V.
Could check with the local Radio Authority for frequency allocations in the area ?????
