Page 1 of Aiwa 370?
Hardware Forum
I`m planning on investing in a new Sony STRDB940 A/V receiver, mission speakers and a new dvd player. But WHICH ONE???? Decent CD playback is essential, and MP3 and multi-region would be great. Preferably around the £300 mark. Anyone got any ideas? Maybe the Aiwa 370?
ooh, a chance to scoop Jimbo on spreading the good word on the 370...I`ll take it.
check through the forum mate - the 370 is highly regarded with all the feature you are looking for.
BUT......
they are almost totally sold out as far as I`m aware - they aren`t being restocked until March. If you find one in comet it is likely an ex-display or repaired return.
I believe the LG 3350 is closely related to it but a bit more expensive. I`m sure I will be corrected if this is not true.
I couldn`t be arsed waiting and bought a Scan 2 weeks ago. I have had no bother at all with it and in my opinion it is a fine machine. Still, if I had £300 to spend I probably wouldn`t bother with the Scan - the extra £115 in your budget brings tastier machines into reach

Jimbo, I can`t get into your site (ohh Matron!). Just dumps me to a Tripod signup page.
same thing happened to me - I signed up as a new member but then it said I needed to ask permission to get in?
I fear the unknown and left it there.......

Thats great guys. The Aiwa 370 sure does sound like a good idea. But having searched around the web a while.... it doesnt seem to exist! Where on earth do I buy it, I cant find it on the comet website as suggested, or anywhere else for that matter.... HELP!
If you CAN find a 370, let us all know where, `cos I can`t!!
Anyways, info now available at http://www.choosefirst.co.uk

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!
Or failing getting an Aiwa (has anyone else noticed that you use `an` when the starting letter of the next word is a vowel......not that it matters but still!)

P.s Hello Jimbo!!! I keep trying to steal potential Awia owners. :oP
-Well we gotta slow these shortages of the Aiwa somehow, and if that means making them pay less to get a better DVD player then thats what we will have to do!!!!! :oP
-Hope things are well all!!!!!
The Toshiba is very nice indeed, but it doesn`t play CD-R`s nor CD-RW`s, it can`t play MP3 discs andyou`ll have to get it modified to be multiregion.
My choice? In alphabetical order:
Aiwa 370 (nowhere to be seen)
LG 3350E (no VCD playback though)
Pioneer DV-535
Toshiba SD100E
