Help / Opinions needed please Sharp / Philips?
Have just been given the green light to get a Sharp from these people
http://www.greatsaves.co.uk/product.asp?id=1747&dealtime
and am very tempted...OR there is a Philips 32PW6006 available for £462.00.
Unfortunately, having just moved house and getting a new DVD system, I can`t go for Westy`s Toshiba thing currently going on in the bargains forum. :(
As always, any asistance will be greatly appreciated.

I`ve got the Sharp 28JF73H flatscreen, not quite the same model as you`re looking at. I`ve had it 9mths and I`m very pleased with it, looks good, no dodgy geometrics, reasonable sound and sharp :) picture. The only fault really is that the scart leads sit a little bit loosely in the scart sockets.
See it here (there is also a 32" version, more expensive than your £399 tho`)

Thanks for the reply Allmy...Think I`m going to go with the Sharp before end of play today unless anybody can tell me of any other 32" W/S bargains. Even found a Matsui in Currys yesterday for £380.00!...Just can`t bring myself to buy this though as the screen looked even curvier than "normal" 32" W/Screens.
Cheers again for the help people.

Just to point out that not everything is perfect in the world. We had a Sharp 28" widescreen for a couple of years. All was fine until one day it switched on to standby OK, but wouldn`t actually switch to view. To cut a long story short it went back 3 times to a repairer under it`s extended warranty. In the end, the fault was such that it wasn`t economically repairable and was replaced by the insurance comany with another brand. Don`t know what the fault was technically, but how difficult can it be to get a TV to switch on, must be some complex circuitry ? However, that`s the only time we`ve had trouble with Sharp equipment.

Hi,
In the past Sharp have had problems with there TV`s....."Do not go near a FW - DW - HW - EF - GF as you are more likly to have a problem .
NOW THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SORTED
As a Sharp Dealer I`ve got to say that the 32" JW - JF & NEW 100Hz KF Have been very good sets. Sharp use Philips CRT any way so theres not to much to pick between the two there. What sharp do is make an easy to use / setup TV that looks good and sounds well.....Its not the best TV on the planet but for the money its as good as it gets.
The picture & text function is very usefull as are the 3 scart sockets. Also the headphone socket has a independent volume and sound control.
Hope this helps
Please email if you need any more infor on the Sharp range
