Philips PW6006 - Engineer codes, picture needs moved to the left...
Just noticed that the picture on my PW6006 when in widescreen chops of some of the left hand side of the picture. Is it possible for me to adust this myself or will I need to ring up an engineer? It`s less than a year old but I would like to do it myself as it will probably be quicker.

Better get an engineer out. If anything goes wrong after you`ve adjusted the picture, the engineer will take one look at the screen and say "Have you been pratting about with the service menu?" and your warranty will be void.
In any case you`d need a One For All remote and the appropriate engineer`s remote code.

If you really want to try to adjust your settings your self, check this web page.

My 24PW6006 needed moving slightly to the right, and I did it myself and I just used the standard remote that came with the TV

Be very careful what you adjust and make a note of anything you change so you can put the original value back if you screw something up.
On my tele,pw6515 and should be same for yours, press 062596 menu.
This should bring up a service menu.
Then press 062596 i+.
This puts the tele in service mode.
make any change you want but note if you change the screen ratio while that perameter is on screen while checking how it looks you will reset the tv to the value before you changed it.Change value and quit out of the menus to save the setting. Then check screen ratio and go back into menu if you want to make further changes.
You will probably need to adjust
HOR SHIFT=HORIZONTAL SHIFT
EW WIDTH=NARROWS SCREEN LEFT AND RIGHT
EW PARA=BOWS LEFT AND RIGHT IN OR OUT
By adjusting width you may bow the picture slightly so ew para solves it.
H60 SHIFT
H60 WIDTH
These do the same thing for a ntsc or 60hz input.
To save the setting i have to switch to standby THEN switch off.If you just switch off it restarts in service mode again.
Good luck.
