Cyberhome LDV710 rebadged as MP Man DVL7
While taking a walk down the high street today considering portable DVD players that I could actually take a look at prior to purchase, I found the MP Man DVL7 in Dixons for £249.99 (£50 cheaper than Richer sounds & in stock).
At first glance it looks identical to the Cyberhome LDV710, it is multi-region inso far that it will read Regions 2, 3 & 4 according to the side of the box (not selected to which region it actually is) & the remote control is identical to the Cyberhome 400. A peek on the battery pack gave a tested life of 3 hours at the factory.
Has anyone bought one & tried the Cyberhome hack (& with a DVD +R(W))?
On the face of it this may well be the one I end up buying, will hot foot it back tomorrow with a DVD or 2 to try in the shop & see if I can get away with it the Cyberhome MR hack, if not will have to start buying Region 3 & 4 DVDs.

RE: Cyberhome LDV710 rebadged as MP Man DVL7
Armed with a handful of discs I have been to Dixons........
The MP Man takes the Cyberhome 1369 hack to make it all regions.
It played a +RW copy (of John Doe) from my Mico R311
I departed Dixons £330 quid lighter (with a 3 year warranty £80 1st Year covers theft & unlimited repairs).
£50 quid cheaper to buy in Dixons, but not sure if Richer Sounds Supercover would be £19.95 or £29.95, either way the cost is comparable.
Its also £10 more expensive than the Bush PDV2000 that is still not hacked.

RE: Cyberhome LDV710 rebadged as MP Man DVL7 or NEWMAN IMP DVDL7
I was looking for the unit on Dixons website to show a colleague & couldnt find it as MP man, on the Dixons website its called NEWMAN IMP DVDL7.
Its still going great guns & easily lasted the 2.5 hours train trip on Sunday to London with 40% charge left on it when I checked the following morning.

RE: Cyberhome LDV710 rebadged as MP Man DVL7 or NEWMAN IMP DVDL7
Hi - I have used this hack on my `MP Man` Machine, and works fine so far. Have to say this is a cracking little player, well worth considering. I have had a lok at most, and I have to say this player does everything and more.
I understand Novatech sell a carry case for the player, but is out of stock. Any other ideas out there??
RE: Cyberhome LDV710 rebadged as MP Man DVL7 or NEWMAN IMP DVDL7
I bought a small case for a fiver from a market stall (Trax branded) - It holds the player in one pocket, the battery in another, leads & attachments in near middle pocket & 3 or 4 beers in the centre compartment, very useful for my weekend commutes. 8)
It also has a shoulder strap & handle (it may not allow you to strap it to the headrest of the seat in front & watch it in that mode - but thats not a requirement of mine).
