i purchased the above machine and im impressed it plays hollow man,matrix,vcds and anything else i throw at it but how do i record region 1 dvds to video on it ?
any help will be appreciated.

try recording with all of the different settings . pal, pal60, ntsc. and look around your video for a switch with ntsc/pal . and look around in the video settings,

looked on the video but no buttons or switches,also looked in the book but nothing ?
Have you tryed taping a r1 dvd with this player and what have you got the player set to?

I havent got mine at the moment I have had two dud players. the lorry they were transported in was a bit to wet and wrecked all of the himages.
In the setup menu change pal to pal 60.

Is it macro off ?

You seem to be an expert on the Himage 2290, which I recently purchased and am having problems with. R2 disc`s play fine using PAL, however R1 disc seem to jitter so I switched to PAL60. This resolves the jitter but the top of the screen constantly flashes, after reading the detailed (not!) instruction`s. They mention PAL60R which I cannot switch too, I wonder if it could be the compatability of my prehistoric portable TV.
Hope you have some ideas or if there is anyone else out there, that can help!
