hi,
I currently own a philips recorder which i use for recording but still use my sony for playing dvds,i would like to know a few things about the panasonic e50 before i buy.


1)is it easy to record?
2)is it noisy-does it have a fan etc?
3)what is the best dvd-r disks to use?
4)what dvd-r disks are crap?
5)i have loads of dvd+r disks mostly datawrite will it play them?
6)do you have to finalise dvd-r and is it simple?
7)i have dvd-r recorded disks on my laptop will it play them?
8)i can make backups of my dvds through a sonel scart does this work on the panasonic?

3)what is the best dvd-r disks to use? - Works with all DVD-R`s i have tried but use Traxdata for best stuff.

4)what dvd-r disks are crap? - Not had any yet!

5)i have loads of dvd+r disks mostly datawrite will it play them? - Dont know, not tried?

6)do you have to finalise dvd-r and is it simple? - For the disc to play on normal DVD players then yes, you do have to finalise which is easy and takes a few minutes.

( I must say that the DVD-Rs it makes must have a funny menu structure as both my Kiiro and mates Dansai wont play the discs? Both play computer made DVD-R`s though! Work fine on newer DVD players from Samsung/JVC though.)

i can make backups of my dvds through a sonel scart does this work on the panasonic? - Should work from what I have heard. I have my Kiiro connected which is macro free and I can make back-ups fine. If films under 2 hours they look as good as the original!

don`t think it plays dvd+r discs

i think i will buy one, but need to know if it plays my dvd+r as i have about 200.

I have finalised a DVD+R disc that was recorded on my Mico. It plays perfectly on the Panasonic E50.
