Toshiba SD330E Multi-region DVD Player.. some questions

riclew (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 5th December 2003, 21:00

I have this.. and I am very impressed... however a few questions to anyone who might know.

Does it play Region Coding Enhanced (RCE) dvds? I know it plays R1`s but I dont have any RCE R`1s and I am looking to buy Spun.

Also .. I am occasionally seeing a little jump when watching films ... should I try one of those DVD player cleaner disks?

and I have heard about firmware for DVD players now ... does anyone know how I would get this onto the player and where to get it from?

riclew[at}colc2k.fsnet.co.uk if anyone has any answers. or just reply here.

Thanks.

The little jump your experiencing will most likely be the layer change, which is quite normal and usually located about half way through the film.

Same sort of thing happens on my Samsung from time to time. I think it`s just the dvd players way of telling you it`s having problems with your disk. Honestly, just try taking the disk out and giving it a careful wipe. That always works on my machine any way.
