I Am a newbie to dvd players and i would like to know how to recored from dvd to vhs. Also i Would like to know which of the following players is the best for recording and watching and also could you tell me which ones play cdr`s.

Legally, you`re not supposed to record from DVD to VHS, and you`ll find that all DVD players come with a copy protection system called Macrovision to prevent you from doing just that. It is illegal under International copyright legislation to knowingly supply a DVD player that has Macrovision disabled.

However....us DVD fans just love cracking the code !!! Some players, particularly budget models imported from the Far East have very loose firmware that can be `hacked` sometimes by tapping in a sequence of numbers on the remote control, but more expensive models may need some form of modification, or external device (such as a Macrovision buster).

It is possible, but very very naughty !!! And we love it...
