Page 1 of SVHS-2 phono---Scart

Hi,

can anyone tell me why my Thor SVHS and 2 phono- Scart cable will not give me very good quality when connected from my LGdvd 3620 to a Scart switch then to my tele?
I only have phono outputs or the SVHS.
Any help appreciated,

Do you have a SCART socket on your TV capable of taking a S-Video signal ([pedantic mode]note the correct term - S-VHS is a VCR recording system not a connection system[/pedantic mode]) ?

Running it through a SCART switcher simply won`t work because they cannot handle an S-Video signal - at best they`ll transfer RGB, otherwise it`s probably composite video.
