Page 1 of Philips DVDR70.here we go again

im getting disc errors from timer recordings on dvd+rw disc
im getting disc errors after finalizing a +r disc
it cant be the discs cos im using philips dvd+r

any suggestions,this machine replaced TWO faulty DVDR880s last year?

What on earth could have happened that i need a firmware revision,the rest of my equipment has not changed,i see a lot of this firmware revision stuff on various forums,but it makes no sense......you never had to do this with vcr`s and my firmware has been ok for 6 months so why would it be outta synch at this time

secondly.........i dont understand how to do it,i know about downloading etc,but i havent got a clue about bin and que files and all that stuff

Philips customer service will send you a cd to put in your player that will update it.But,to be honest,cut your losses and buy a decent make.It seems that Philips are still a brand to avoid
