I`m looking to buy the Tesco lg dvd and require a cheap portable to go with the dvd do I need one with ntsc, pal etc. etc. does anyone know of a good portable I think it should have a scart at least.
Also can I use my small CD Hi Fi system aux intput for the dvd audio output to the speakers or will I need an audio amp.
Thanks

the LG dvd players output NTSC discs to PAL using the PseudoPal function built into the player - just make sure the switch at the back is set to Auto and let the player do the rest...

you can use an Aux input for the dvd analogue output.

as most DVD`s are in widescreen think about how small the image will be on a little TV. are you sure you will watch such a small picture?

as for the audio yes you clould plug it into that mini hifi but the sound from your TV will more than likley be just as good / bad (depending on your point of view).

Is there no way you can save up a little more and get a cheap 24 inch widescreen? - It would be much better - you dont want to be watching 2.35 films on a portable..it was just too small when I saw Woolworths demoing that Proline thingy of a DVD player on a portable..bad marketing!
Although it was good marketing for Sanyo because I then decided I needed a widescreen TV so ended up spending an extra grand on a 32incher (not at Woolworths).

Sanyo 32" rocks - the blacks arent black but I`ve saved a monkey.
Toshiba rocks - may not be a Tag Maclaran..but I`ve saved a bloody gorilla!
