well i`ve had two LG3200`s and just one 511

lg3200 wouldn`t play some discs. the 511 does.

i used to have a LG3200E, it had problems playing certain discs (jerky unwatchable picture). got a replacement LG 3200E and it had the same problems, so i got my money back and bought a Samsung 511.

Since then i`ve had no problems, plus IMHO, the picture quality is a lot better than the LG.

go for the Samsung.

i think you`ll find that the LG3200e does have a digital connector.

hook it up to the VS-10 via a co-axial cable.

RE: DXR3 mpeg card`s TV output.

If you used the S-Video output of the card and your TV isn`t s-video compatible, the resulting picture will be black and white on the tv.

try using the video input on your tv instead.

the problems i had with it started about a week after i bought it. Got a replacement from the shop i bought it from (Big W), but had exactly the same problem, so i got a refund.

i used to have a LG3200 and i experienced some playback problems with a few discs (namely Aliens where chapters 14-20 were unwatchable due to picture breakup).

I bought a Samsung 511 which in my opinion has a better picture quality than the LG and plays the `problem` discs that i have with no trouble.

There are plenty of reviews for it on the Internet, giving mixed opinions of it.

It`s not DTS compatible, only Dolby Digital and EAX(a format used in computer games).

One of the plus points for it must be that it has a remote control as many of these packages don`t usually come with one.

Slightly cheaper than the DTT3500 is the Yamaha TSS1, which is both Dolby and DTS compatible. However, i haven`t seen any reviews of this so i can`t comment on whether it`s any good or not. I`d say the smart money is on it though...

i`d say that the lens has probably got some dirt on it.

give it a clean and see if it solves the problem.

i`ve only got a poxy portable tv and hi fi connected to my dvd player but it`s still miles better than watching videos.

the LG dvd players output NTSC discs to PAL using the PseudoPal function built into the player - just make sure the switch at the back is set to Auto and let the player do the rest...

you can use an Aux input for the dvd analogue output.

well, i`ve only had the player since Tuesday, so i don`t think there should be any problems with player yet re: dust/dirt on the lens.

all the other discs that i`ve got (Alien, Jaws and Seven) seem fine...

problems with Aliens disc

on my LG 3200 E player, chapters 14-20 on the Aliens disc are unwatchable (jerks and skips on the picture).

i exchanged the disc today and the problem became even worse with the replacement, with chapters 14-24 being the affected areas.

any ideas of what`s going on?

ntsc vhs tapes - jerky picture???

just been reading about how some people have been getting jerky picture quality when playing some R1 discs on their players.

do you get these sort of problems when playing american ntsc vhs tapes on british vcr`s? (i mean vcr`s that can deal with ntsc playbeack)

well, in the short time that i`ve been reading through this forum, one thing that i have learnt is that the `ironduke` is a complete idiot.

also, if the ironduke (and others) have got nothing better to do with their time than to argue about how much their dvd player is better than others, they obviously need to get out more...

Dixons are selling this model for less than 130 quid and i was wondering if it`s any good...

Can it go multi-region like the DVD110???

How does it compare to the other budget models???
