Page 1 of Afreey LD2060 - Anyone got one?

I am looking at getting my first DVD player, I have read some very good things about the Afreey, but has anyone here actually got one... Any info from anyone who has one here would be grateful

Hi Jon, hope you`re okay mate - nice to see you here.

There are subtle differences between the Encore and the Afreey players inasmuch that the Encore player is actually a rebadged Sampo DVE560, whilst the Afreey player is a rebadged Sampo DVE660, which replaced the 560 last year. There`s no hardware differences as such, just a different looking player, and possibly a newer drive unit.

An update on Encore 450 availability - DVD World http://www.dvdworld.co.uk will be selling them for £200 from April 2001, and are importing directly from Taiwan. These 4500 players have not all been bought up by DVD World, but they will be the last ones to come into the UK. The Afreey has pretty much replaced the Encore player as the Sampo presence in the UK.

The best deal on the Afreey is from a company called Second Spin, who do a post-free deal to Area 450 visitors (£165 all in) and they turn orders round dead quick. David from Second Spin is also the Area 450 technical adviser too.
