I wanted to transfer home video to dvd-r via my dvd recorder but after plugging my scart lead to 2 phono 1 s video to the recorder i get purfect sound but black & white picture with distorted color i plug it to the front panel but have also tried it in rear but still the same any ideas anyone i want to record my kids onto disk

What video format are the home movies on, european PAL or american NTSC? Usually black and white means you are trying to convert from american NTSC to pal.

i`m using pal video camera format that s been transfered to video. The picture is not really b/w just distorted colour. Thanks Steve

Ensure the AV2 connections input setting on the Panny is set to VIDEO(or Svideo if your camcorder stuff is svhs).The symptoms you are getting sound as if svideo is either your format or the setting currently on the E50
