LG 3000E Yamaha DSP E-800 Processor.
DTS discs play but no sound. Connections are coaxial to the processor and scart to the telly.
Do I need to bin the scarts and use s-video as a mate suggests?
the video connections shouldn`t make any difference - just worry about the path the sound data is taking.
are u sure the LG 3000E is set to output the DTS stream?
Connections are coaxial to the processor.....
I take it you are talking about a digital coax lead, using normal l & r coaxial phono leads won`t give you any dts sound or dolby digital either.
If you are using digital then check the player setup and the disc audio options.
Yep - you can select DTS play from the menu of e.g. Gladiator, and the disc plays, so the DVD/Player is ok. The processor picks it up cos you get a groovy Yamaha DTS logo thing.., but you have to force the processor onto DTS to get this, otherwise it doesnt see it. Gotta be cabling......
When you get it working please tell me what the quality is like on the Yamaha DSP 800 thingy as i THINK i really want one of those.... just a quick "it kicks arse!" will do :)
just throw me an email at niai[at]gro.wapytsorf
Works fine on Dolby Digital, very impressed. Wanted to keep my Audiolab hi-fi amp, hence getting a processor. I tested £500+ surround amps but they were all rubbish at music.
I saw the Yammy for £250 the other day at Sevenoaks (I paid £300 about 6 months ago).
If you want to preserve your hi-fi setup then get the processor, otherwise just get the dsp-a5 all in one.
sounds remarkably familiar!
i`ve an Audiolab 8000A amp for my front speakers so want to keep that - hence i`m incredibly keen on this idea of the Yammy, just needed to actually find a review ANYWHERE!! as there don`t seem to be any...
cheers for the info re: sevenoaks :)
