RE: Looking for a 28in widescreen tv
Saw Philips 6006`s going for under that this week.
Do a search on kelkoo.co.uk
Can`t believe I`m recommending Philips after the hassle I`ve had with them this week but,in my defence, the 6006 still seems to be a cracking entry-level widescreen telly even though it`s a few years old now.
Certainly a better option than the unknown-brand stuff you get from supermarkets etc.
Alternatively,try e-bay.
Loads of decent people upgrading,as I will be in a couple of months.
You might get a model that would have cost you double your budget,or more, when new.

i have a JVC 28" nicam, with stand, can`t rmbr model no, but its fantastic, never any problems would highly recommend

Well, I don`t know if they`ve got any left, but Sainsbury`s had the Lodos 28" widescreen for £159.99 earlier this year. It`s a very nice TV and it is, I understand, identical to a Hitachi -even down to the manual which is identical!
Aldi had a pure flat Tevion TV which I know a mate got is is well happy with-I think it was around £230, but the stores that have them left had it down to under £200 to clear.
I`ve also seen sets in Kwik Save-can`t remember the name, but they were £179.99 and I think thay Asda has their `Pacific` branded 28"w/s under 200 quid too.

try hyperfi.co.uk they got few in your price bracket
RE: Looking for a 28in widescreen tv
I can`t remember if it`s Somerford or Safeway but one is doing a 28" for less than £190.00
RE: Looking for a 28in widescreen tv
Some Aldi`s still have the Tevion Flat Screen model in for under 200 squid
My there`s some cracking brand names being mentioned here !
How well I remember my brother`s Beko 28" widescreen TV.
How well I remember the fact it was recalled because of a "fire hazard"
How well I remember the fact that, even after the recall,it would have burnt his flat down if he hadn`t been there when it went `BANG` in spectacular fashion....
That was actually a blessing as he hated the thing. The casing rattled beyond belief at even the slightest volume levels.
Basically,it was a piece of crap.
:/
Digital direct are doing a JVC AV28GT1S with stand for £247.80.
That`s a JVC for the same money as some of the dubious makes mentioned above.
That`s a JVC for under £250...
A JVC
For under ££250..... 8)

Had plenty of Tevion/Medion products, and they`ve all been not only excellent value for money, but just plain good!!
I`ve never been one for `brand name` culture at all-I`ve had some of the worst electrical appliances I`ve ever had with a `badge` on them.
We`ve got one of the Sainsbury`s 28" widescreens in the house, badged Lodos, but it`s a the same as an Hitachi costing twice what I paid Sainsbury`s for this, and it`s a cracking TV. It was my first venture into widescreen and I didn`t want to fork over a ton of money if I didn`t like it or couldn`t get used to it. Not only has it made me a widescreen believer, I`ve no desire to buy anything else until I get myself into the Plasma era in a couple of year time when they are cheap as chips.
