Yamada 8000 set up problem...help please

magnius (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 6th October 2004, 12:22

Hi,

I have just got my new Yamada DVD Recorder and have set all the cables up correctly so far as I can tell, but for some reason I can`t seem to get it to tune into Sky for the record settings :(

One problem seems to be a missing menu screen on the tuning menu...it is supposed to come up with a screen asking whether you want to search for Air (Terrestrial?) or Cable but it doesn`t do this so I think it is trying to search Air by default and it can`t find anything...this might be because I don`t have it connected to Terrestrial anymore...but how do I get it to search for Cable?

Hi

[ Yamada 8000 recording from set top boxes]

I have sent you a replie to your email covering the post on here but for everyone else please read the following.

Load a disk and allow it to load fully and you get a on screen text/icon
Then if manually recording press the INPUT button several times to get the socket used for your device , you should then if its on you see the picture .You can then press the record button to record . [ you may have to press it more than once and if its a RW the process may take longer. ]

But if doing a timer recording of a settop box press the SETUP button then the Right Arrow button to select REC option. Then the DOWN Arrow to select SCART or the one you want. This is the default setting only for timer .

Hope this helps
