Starlogic Multi-region 2.1 DVD Player

gouster (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 8th November 2004, 22:24

I`m looking to buy my daughter a reasonably priced DVD Player for Christmas. Preferably, I would like one that is multi-region and can also handle DVD-Rs. Does anyone have any experience of this player which Amazon are selling for £29.99? It seems like a really good deal but wouldn`t be as much of a bargain if it can`t handle discs recorded on my Panasonic E55. Alternatively, does anyone have any better suggestions?

Thanks!

Chris

Think most can handle DVD-Rs - it won`t handle your DVD-Ram disks from the Panasonic. There are loads of supermarket cheapo models that are fine for the bedroom for around the £30 mark; just feed the details into Google first and look for a multi-region hack. I got a Compacks from Safeway which was dead easy to hack.

Easier to take them back to a supermarket as well, than having to post it back to Amazon if you don`t like it.
