I`d second the Pioneer. I have the Pioneer 106 in my PC and it`s worked faultlessly up to now.

Mark. :)

I`ve got a pioneer 105 and an NEC 2500A. The Pioneer was my first toe inrecordable DVD waters, and until I flashed the firmware, it was a pig..x4 writer but struggled to write successfully at that speed. Flashed the firmware with a `non-official` one on the web, and it ran like a dream (And it became region free too!!).

I`ve also added a second writer, that is the NEC 2500A-an x8 speed multi format writer that was fantastic out of the box-never given me a moments problem. One of the prime motives behind buying this was that it could be flashed to become a dual layer burner-That flash worked well and it`s now ready and waiting for dual layer discs to get to a realistic price.

`Two DVD writers??` you may ask... yes, because I`m often creating DVD`s for more than one person, and I can burn two at the same time using Nero.

To sum up, don`t think you`ll go far wrong with eithr Pioneer or NEC drives.
